Devonport Carnival is held at our local track, given where we’re staying. It is held over 2 days from 3pm until 10:30 under the new lighting system (installed after a serious crash last year). Launceston Carnival (with updated photos!)

Yesterday’s Launceston track carnival was held at the Silverdome, home of the TIS (Tasmanian Institute of Sport). The Tasmania Chtistmas carnivals are a long-standing part of the bike racing calendar and also, of the strong culture surrounding cycling in Tasmania. In point of fact, yesterday’s racing at the Latrobe track was the 112th annual carnival.
